Experiential Learning

Fellows Opportunities

The many fellows programs enhance the academic experience through research and experiential learning opportunities and high-quality engagements with external thought leaders to identify career pathways and develop scholarship on private equity and entrepreneurship.

First-Year Project

Tuck's core curriculum provides a solid foundation in management, quantitative skills, and leadership. The First-Year Project takes the learning experience outside the classroom. Local nonprofit organizations may propose a project of strategic importance in areas including marketing, finance, and business development for a team of 5 Tuck students to work on in the spring of their first year. Collectively, students contribute 40 hours per week for 10 weeks. Participating organizations receive thorough analysis and actionable recommendations. Past projects included:

On-Site Global Consulting (On-Site)

OnSite Global Consulting (OnSite) is a second-year MBA elective course, operated through TuckGO, that offers professional quality consulting services to a host of worldwide clients and an extraordinary experiential learning opportunity for students. OnSite provides an entry point into real-time industry experience while serving organizations and nonprofits that do not have sufficient resources to address important initiatives.

Global Insight Expedition

Global Insight Expeditions (GIXs) bring together students and faculty in experiential courses that take place around the world. The aim of GIXs is to help prepare students to lead across cultures by immersing them in a new country. Each begins with classroom sessions on Tuck’s campus. Students then spend March break traveling with a faculty member in a country outside the U.S. During travel, students interact with corporations, entrepreneurial ventures, nonprofits, governments, and local people from different walks of life. After the travel period, students complete a course project.

Exchange Programs

Spending a term overseas allows students to gain knowledge of a different culture’s educational and business environment while enhancing their understanding of global business issues. Tuck's exchange partners are selected based on their reputations for excellence and their fit with the Tuck MBA curriculum, structure, and academic calendar.

MBA Competitions

The Center sponsors student teams at various PE and Entrepreneurship competitions including the following:
